Preparation guide – Rats and mice
Rodents often move around kitchens, bathrooms, pipes, false ceilings and service ducts.
Please make these areas as accessible as possible before our visit.

Before our visit
- Empty the cupboards or drawers under sinks if necessary.
- Move some furniture to give access to walls and pipes.
- Unclip accessible skirting boards if this is easy to do.
- If you hear noises in a false ceiling or loft, make the hatch accessible.
- If noises come from a wall or near a pipe, show the technician exactly where.

During our visit
- You can usually stay on site with the technician.
- Show them where you have seen marks, droppings, runs or heard noises.
- The technician looks for possible entry points.
- They may install mechanical traps, bait stations or other suitable professional devices.
- Small gaps may be secured or sealed, depending on their layout.
- Larger openings that may require masonry or building work may need to be repaired by a tradesperson.

After the treatment
- Do not leave food accessible, so it does not compete with the baits.
- Avoid using strong-smelling products near the devices.
- Do not move bait stations or traps before the end of the treatment.
- If a device really has to be moved, contact us or follow the technician's instructions.
