Preparation guide – Bed bugs
Preparing your home is essential so the technician can reach every area where bed bugs may be hiding.
Please follow the instructions below before our visit.

Before our visit
- Move furniture and, if possible, leave a gap from the walls to give access to skirting boards and corners.
- Remove personal belongings, take down wall-mounted items and, if possible, dismantle the headboard.
- Make sockets, switches and skirting boards accessible where possible.
- Empty wardrobes, drawers and the space under the bed or sofa.
- Strip the mattress if possible.
- Pets and plants must be removed from the home before the visit when the treatment used requires it.
Important · Textiles and linen
Can be done between the 2 visitsPlace clothes, sheets, curtains and any textiles that may be affected in sealed bags before the first visit.
Linen can be treated by:
- Washing at 60°C for at least 30 minutes
- Tumble dryer: 30 minutes on a high setting
- Freezer: around -20°C for 5 days, for suitable items and textiles
Treating the linen is not required before the first visit. It can be done between the two visits and must be finished before the second visit.

During our visit
Chemical treatment
- Application of a professional biocide.
- No person, pet or plant should remain in the treated areas when the product's conditions of use require it.
- A second visit around two weeks later may be needed.
Heat treatment
- Professional dry steam treatment.
- A method that treats bed bugs and their eggs.
- May be used depending on the situation and the technician's recommendations.
Whichever method is used, keep clean linen in sealed bags in an uncontaminated area until the technician confirms the treatment is complete.

After the treatment
- Respect the time indicated by the technician before going back into treated areas.
- Air the rooms according to the instructions given after the visit.
- Do not immediately clean areas where a residual product has been applied.
- Vacuum corners, skirting boards, the mattress and the sofa regularly if the technician has recommended it.
- Put belongings back only once the end of the treatment has been confirmed.
- Fill cracks and reassemble dismantled items once the treatment is complete.
